First images of temporary House of Commons Chamber revealed
8th May 2019
Design proposals for Parliament’s Northern Estate are being launched for consultation today.
These plans are essential to enable the restoration and renewal of the Palace of Westminster.
Plans will include a new temporary House of Commons Chamber, as well as work-space for all 650 MPs and their staff within a single secure site.
The plans follow the decision of Parliament in 2018 to temporarily move out of the Palace of Westminster. This will allow essential building work to take place, estimated to start in the mid-2020s.
